Interoperability Platform:
Graphite’s interoperability platform is at the intersection of some of the toughest challenges in health tech today. A large-scale mission-critical data system capable of supporting transactional application workloads and large-scale analytics workloads, the interoperability platform is built around one of the largest repositories of computable medical knowledge. The platform supports a large variety of high velocity data spanning structured and unstructured medical records, medical IoT, claims data and operational data.


You will be a key member of the team developing and operating the Graphite interoperability platform.
 
This role can be 100% remote in the USA; it is a full-time role and offers extensive benefits including a healthcare plan.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, build and maintenance of production-ready systems to manage the full lifecycle of software deployed in a Kubernetes environment
  • Develop and test infrastructure as code that enables reliable and maintainable systems at scale
  • Create clear and understandable documentation of how systems operate
  • Measure and optimize architecture performance
  • Incident troubleshooting, root cause analysis and timely remediation of issues
  • Lead and mentor senior/junior DevOps engineers to deliver and operate at scale

  • Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in DevOps and software development, including...
  • 6+ years of relevant DevOps work experience designing, executing, and supporting cloud solutions
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with application development
  • Multi-cloud experience with a mix of storage, compute, network, IAM, container services, database services with a mix of the following: S3, RDS, KMS, EC2, EBS, ECS, EKS, VPC, CloudWatch, RedShift; Azure VMs, Azure AD, AKS, API Management
  • Cloud networking and security experience
  • Experience with implementing microservices based architectures with tools like Kubernetes, Docker or OpenShift
  • Experience with observability tools like Splunk, Zabbix, Nagios
  • Strong understanding of how architectural decisions impact cloud costs
  • Strong experience implementing infrastructure as code using Terraform
  • Strong experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines
  • Have designed systems for high-availability, stability, and observability
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring a small team of DevOps engineers
  • Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams from scratch
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams through the full product lifecycle
  • Significant experience working in a Linux Environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to present technical solutions and architecture
  • An enthusiasm to work at a mission-driven organization focused on improving the health of others

  • Additional Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience with cloud agnostic approaches using OpenShift
  • Experience developing/deploying healthcare software
  • Work Environment:
    Fast-paced work environment
    Work in a quiet remote work environment
    Be available for collaborative work (via computer, videoconference, teleconference, etc.) during Graphite working hours (Mountain or Pacific Time), Monday through Friday
    Sit for prolonged periods working on a computer
    Lift basic office equipment and supplies
    Periodic travel (including air travel) may be required
