About the Role:  

We are looking for a global Senior Partner Business Manager with a focus on our 3rd party community of Cloud service providers and alliance partners.  The role resides within Planet’s commercial organization tasked with fostering industry solutions relationships, building the commercial strategy for platform integrations (to facilitate joint value propositions), and for go-to-market initiatives. This role is responsible for delivering global scale commercial programs that meet revenue and profit goals.

Impact You’ll Own:

  • Support development of a strategy based on Planet and cloud service providers shared target markets. Drive growth by catalyzing creative ideas for GTM programs, sales strategies, and research to unleash new opportunities at scale

  • Manage business relationships with cloud service providers in the Americas region, including evangelizing internally and externally, helping identify technical requirements, and advocating the voice of the customer at Planet

  • Work closely with Planet’s Strategic Alliances Team to execute on joint strategies and commercialize co-developed solutions

  • Manage the right coverage and mix of system integrators, global consultants and solution. partners that develop insights on top of cloud and platform solutions.  Define SI-specific business plans with quantifiable goals and sign new SIs as needed

  • Establish process, criteria, and controls for selection, management, and performance of SIs to accelerate cloud strategy

  • Report performance of cloud industry solutions (pipeline and revenue) to Planet stakeholders

  • Communicate strategic activities and sales progress with Planet’s senior leadership team and across the global direct sales organization

  • Actively manage co-sell enablement to drive revenue across our Planets full portfolio of products

  • Ensure SIs and cloud partners are working closely with Planet through the sales process; lead generation, registering opportunities, accurately forecasting revenue, and tracking  revenue goals established by their discount tier

  • Drive sales through cloud industry solutions channels and execute go-to-market strategies

  • Implement strategic sales account plans and identify business growth opportunities

  • Participate in sales meetings including: Sales planning, Quarterly Business Reviews and weekly Forecast calls

What You Bring:

  • Minimum 15+ years of client relations or sales experience including 3+ years of working with and/or selling to global cloud operators

  • Demonstrated capacity to manage complex relationships

  • Demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding partner channel revenue growth targets

  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a high-growth culture

  • Ability to lead account planning workshops and executive briefings

  • Excellent communicator with solid presentation, speaking, and writing skills

  • Excellent market research and prospecting skills

  • The ability to coach channel sales teams on a solution selling sales methodology

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to travel as needed

  • An excellent understanding of home working and the motivation to stay on track

  • Degree or equivalent business experience

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Experience working with remote sensing, geospatial imagery and/or GIS software

  • Building geospatial analytics applications on cloud service provider stacks

  • Multiple years of experience in a cloud industry solutions sales role

  • Capable of leading cross-functional workshops and aligning internal stakeholders to build positive team dynamics that deliver results

The US base salary range for this full-time position at the commencement of employment is $213,400 - $350,900.  Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives (commission, bonus and equity). The final salary range is determined by job related experience, skills and location.  The range displays our typical hiring range for new hire salaries in US locations only.  Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
