Data Principal Technical Consultant

The PTCs are the technical experts that collaborate with our AHEAD Account Teams to help identify, qualify and build the solutions that support our customers Digital Business.
The responsibilities will include working closely with the Regional Managing Directors to drive sales campaigns focused on our portfolio of Digital Solution consulting services. This individual will also be responsible for creating awareness of AHEAD’s world class services that integrate with our key Data partners, while working closely with current and prospective customers to determine how AHEAD can best serve their app and data modernization initiatives.

  • Collaborate with AHEAD clients to understand their strategic, business, and technical needs
  • Identify gaps in the client environment, process, and skills with the intent to address, educate, and bring their teams together to drive enablement
  • Comfortable adapting to present to individual contributors, managers, or executives on complex solutions, architectures and integrations in a clear and articulate manner to address business challenges/needs to achieve the correct outcomes
  • Articulate and serve as a key contributor to AHEAD’s development methodology and engagement approach around our Digital Solutions service offerings
  • Partner with our practice leaders to continuously improve our offerings based on market demands, technology advancement, and client innovation
  • Collaborate with clients and other Solution Architecture disciplines within AHEAD and our partners, to design a Client’s strategic architecture and digital roadmaps.
  • Become a thought leader by educating and sharing best practices, building deep relationships with technical leaders, contributing to publications, white papers, conferences, etc.
  • Playing a key role between Sales and Delivery in ensuring a smooth project execution and successful implementation
  • Accept and maintain accountability for key transformational projects by serving as the Technical Lead. Anticipated billable project utilization is 65%.
  • Maintain transparent communication. Appropriately communicate organization information through group meetings, one-on-one meetings, and appropriate email, IM, and regular interpersonal communication.
  • Lead consultants to meet the organization's and client’s expectations.
  • Consciously create a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall organization that emphasizes the identified values and guiding principles.
  • Follow and enforce adherence to AHEAD’s Service Delivery/Innovation Frameworks and overall quality of deliverables.
  • Maintain technical credibility within the industry and the field through demonstration and thought leadership.
  • Advise customers on best practices, frameworks, and pricing models for current and up-and-coming technologies.
  • Develop and present customer Proposals and Statements of Work.
  • Act as a lead technologist and maintain a broad understanding of Data, AppDev, Cloud, DevOps and Automation technologies.

  • Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Software Development Lifecycle principles
  • Previous practical experience in pre-sales or defining and qualifying technical requirements for procurements preferred

  • Comfortable presenting to customers at the Engineering & Executive Level
  • Capable of building technical solutions that solve business needs & outcomes

  • Prior pre-sales and/or consulting experience preferred

  • Highly knowledgeable in Data transformation and capabilities that we support today:
  • Highly knowledgeable of key Public Cloud and Data technologies  
  • Hands-on experience with data architecture, designing data environments, data models, data warehousing, and data-lakes  
  • Understand how to maintain complex ETL pipelines  
  • Experience with different ETL/ELT technologies 
  • Experienced with both columnar and traditional OLAP-focused warehouses and lakes 
  • Results-Oriented 
  • Strong interpersonal skills 
  • Comfortable presenting to customers at the Executive Level 
  • Understands how to tie technology back to solving business needs & outcomes 
  • Ability to motivate others to achieve results

  • Knowledgeable in relevant complementary technologies and capabilities:
  • Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Version control systems (GitHub, GitLab, AzureDevOps)
  • CI/CD (GitHub, GitLab, AzureDevOps)
  • Container Orchestration (Kubernetes, Openshift, Tanzu, Rancher)
  • Configuration Management platforms: Chef, Puppet, SaltStack
