About the job
This position is needed to help set the technical direction and implementation for our effort to productionize the nascent Kubernetes platform.
Twilio supports the technical infrastructure behind messaging, voice and data for many of the world’s biggest companies. It will be your job to support the infrastructure behind that infrastructure. As the world evolves, we are moving to a more and more centralized model, and Kubernetes is at the core of that. As a principal SRE, you will be responsible for the design of our operations, pipelines, observability for our new infrastructure and you will lead the effort to enable users to migrate from older systems.
In this role, you’ll:
- Set the technical direction for k8s reliability
- Design systems to ensure reliability and operability of our k8s infrastructure
- Define best practices for our applications interact with infrastructure
- Partner with leaders from across the company to set reliability standards and build the systems to enforce them

- Excellent generalist knowledge of software engineering and delivery.
- In-depth understanding of kubernetes at scale
- Knowledge of cloud architecture and non-abstract large-scale systems design.
- Excellent technical leadership skills
- Expertise in debugging and troubleshooting large scale distributed systems
- Experience in building automation frameworks
- Previous experience running shared infrastructure
This role will be remote, based in Ireland or Spain. No travel is anticipated.
