The Cloud Services Manager oversees the day-to-day delivery of cloud services to Ahead Managed Services customers, and in cooperation with the Product Manager, provides technical guidance and leadership to the Sales and Cloud Services teams for the Cloud & DevOps Managed Services offerings. The Cloud Services Manager is a highly-skilled technical expert and project lead, with significant in-depth, hands-on experience architecting, designing, developing, and deploying technology. The Cloud Services Manager is responsible for successful services of high-quality, profitable services to enterprise clients as well as financial and resource management within their specific service area. The Cloud Services Manager has responsibility for understanding, planning, and leading the services of cloud and automation solutions for clients. This individual acts as a trusted adviser on technology-related topics including technology strategy, framing the business value coming from AHEAD initiatives, and articulating how this work enables clients to meet their business goals and objectives.
Roles and Responsibilities Manage a team of 5-15 engineers and architectsAct as an AHEAD leadership contact with client executive teamsProvide consultation and monthly reports with respect to the client’s cloud-based infrastructureWork with team to build individualized career development plansCoach, mentor, and develop direct reports, including overseeing new employee on-boardingLead employees to meet the expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishmentProvide performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards, and disciplinary actionActively manage bench time to support progress toward utilization targets, individual development goals, and solution development goalsUnderstand sales pipeline and team capacity and capabilities and work with practice leadership to adjust staffing plans as neededMaintain skills and certification inventory of teamConsciously create a workplace culture that supports the values and guiding principles of the organization Foster a culture of delivering with quality and careBuild and maintain a culture of trust through open and honest feedback and accountabilityWork with Solutions Principals and practice leadership to define the solution development roadmapContribute to solution development activities directly and through coordinating time and contributions by the teamContribute to blog posts, speak at user groups / conferences, and present at internal briefings as needed
Qualifications10+ years of hands-on experience in delivery and architecting and configuring Cloud solutionsPossess a broad base of technical skills, business acumen, and a strong desire to support the clientExperience managing, mentoring, and coaching peopleUnderstand the detail behind the implemented solution and having the ability to communicate the high-level vision with the clientThe ability to think past the products and create solutions to meet the business/IT needsEffectively communicate solutions architecture to the client, third parties, and the teamEncompass strong listening and interpersonal skills, an ability to solve complex problems, a big picture mentality, and an aptitude to visualize the solutionAble to foster teamwork among the delivery team(s)Proficiency in hardware, software and/or operating systems environmentsAbility to manage a team environmentProven trouble-shooting & problem solving abilityPresentation and facilitation of executive level meetings, group presentations, and collaborative technical workshops
