What you will get to do:
  • Develop the next-generation Cloud-Native Database(TiDB) storage layer (e.g. TiKV) that is extremely scalable (e.g. PB level), optimized for the cloud environment and easy for backup and restore;
  • Design and develop reliable, scalable and efficient data backup and restore pipeline, including fast PiTR (Point in-time Recovery) ability upon massive dataset;
  • Analyze and improve TiDB's performance, stability, and scalability in the cloud environment;
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customers' critical issues such as performance, stability, or scalability;
  • Influence and lead the team with expertise and engineering excellence;
  • Built and improve engineering practice for DBAAS infrastructure;
  • Mentor junior engineers and help to grow the whole team's technical capability.

    • We are looking for:
  • Five (5) years of experience in software development/system development or related;
  • Three (3) years of experience in database, storage, and/or distributed system development;
  • Experience with cloud technologies, such as AWS, GCP, and/or Azure;
  • Experience with container orchestration technology, e.g. Kubernetes.

  • The annual anticipated base salary range for U.S. candidates for this role is USD $180k to $240k. The actual individual base pay will depend on various factors such as the complexity and responsibility of the role, work locations, job levels, and relevant experience and skills. This role is also eligible to participate in PingCAP's Bonus and Equity Plan, as well as our Sales Compensation Plan if it is a sales role. In order to comply with local legislation and provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base salary ranges on all US job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Please note that actual salaries may vary and fall outside of this range depending on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, geographic location, skills, experience, and competencies. Other benefits include health insurance, flexible vacation time, paid holidays, and parental leave. Salaries for candidates outside the U.S. will vary based on local compensation structures.
