Job Summary: The Azure Platform Engineer will be responsible for the uptime, reliability, performance, management, and security of ISN platforms (e.g., ISNetworld and Empower), their application environments and infrastructure hosted in Microsoft Azure. The position will perform various tasks such as managing web traffic, active directory, managing networks and network access, containers and registries, Kubernetes, multiple development focused Azure PaaS and SaaS resources (e.g., Service Bus, Functions, App Services, Redis Cache, et al), platform governance, policies, and initiatives. Additionally, the position will manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and source control using Azure DevOps repositories deployments, building and managing Azure DevOps build and release pipelines for IaC deployments, and assisting other ISN developers, operations, and security teams with needed troubleshooting, access, and monitoring. The position will leverage a mix of manual and automated process to both minimize disruption and increase reliability for ISN’s applications and services.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited university and/or equivalent work experience
- Microsoft Azure certifications or equivalent work experience:
o AZ-900 (Azure Fundamentals) certification
o AZ-104 (Azure Administrator) certification
o AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect Expert) certification
o AZ-700 (Azure Networking Associate) certification - 7+ years in a software engineer, systems administration, and/or DevOps role
- 5+ years working in a Windows Server-based environment
- 3+ years deploying, managing, supporting, and securing Microsoft Azure / cloud-hosted workloads
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience in automating deployments, server configurations, and creating DevOps related efficiencies
- 2+ years managing mission critical 24/7 Production internet-facing applications
- 2+ years administering / managing .NET code deployments and applications
- 2+ years experience with modern-day automation-friendly languages (bash, Powershell, C#, Python)
- Significant expertise in applicable and various technologies such as Azure, cloud computing, network engineering, Microsoft Windows platform and applications
- Extensive experience working with software development teams to deploy code
- Expert understanding of core networking and connectivity topics surround internet-based applications (DNS, load balancers, VPN, VLAN, etc.)
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provision, manage, and operate Azure-based PaaS and SaaS resources using IaC (ARM templates, Azure Bicep, Terraform, Azure CLI, Powershell) for ISNetworld and Empower platforms, developers, and teams
- Provision, manage, and operate Azure PaaS and SaaS layers for storage, network components, security integrations, network defense, network security appliances and integrations/services, virtual networks, Azure-based VPNs, web application firewalls, intrusion detection systems, intrusion prevention systems
- Provision, manage, and operate Azure-based web and development services (load balancers, application gateways, traffic management, App Services, App Configuration, App Insights, Service Bus, Functions, et al)
- Automate deployments, configurations where possible. Perform audits of deployments and configurations. Create DevOps efficiencies where possible using a combination third party SaaS and PaaS products and custom developed tools
- Create and manage observability processes and protocols for Azure workloads including thresholds, triggers, action groups, ticketing system and web hook integrations. Monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and report metrics on service and application issues (uptime, redundancy, latency, traffic, error rates, saturation, performance, usage, etc.)
- Work closely with development teams to help migrate IaaS-based workloads to cloud native / Azure PaaS and SaaS equivalents with little to no downtime or data loss
- Integrate with existing IaaS workload management teams (Windows Server, .NET applications, SQL Server, Tableau, SAP Business Objects)
- Be responsive to failures and issues as part of a 24/7 on-call rotation

The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is the fourth largest metropolitan area in the country, with a wide variety of excellent schools, entertainment venues, sports teams, and museums. ISN’s headquarters is in uptown Dallas, a short walk from multiple restaurants and shops, with easy access to public transportation and major highways.
Employees must be within a commutable distance to the Dallas, TX office and be willing to come into the office for required trainings, events, team activities, and meetings.
