Position Overview

Intelex is looking for Cloud Engineer to join the Cloud Operations team. They will be brought on to work on an exciting cloud implementation project across the company! You will an active participant in the entire SDLC to help implement cloud solutions and will need a good understanding of the cloud and implementations/data transformations within web applications. The right candidate will need excellent verbal and written communication to work multi-functionally with many teams to ensure a successful completion of the project.

What You’ll Do…

  • Be part of a small, focused team with the power and responsibility to decide how best to serve the customer.

  • Architect, run, and improve the infrastructure that runs the applications that power the Intelex software.

  • Be a force multiplier for other teams, helping them to build and deploy features quickly and safely!

  • Write, review, test, and deploy code to manage our infrastructure daily.

  • Anticipate and debug real problems with infrastructure and code that is in production.

  • Take deep dives into existing performance issues and anticipate new ones.

  • Participate in our on-call rotation, and own making the on-call experience as cheerful as possible.

Responsibilities and Objectives

  • Monitoring, managing, and maintaining high availability web systems (Windows and Linux) as a System Administrator Engineer.

  • Follow and champion ITIL Best Practices and Standards.

  • Maintenance of data backups and Disaster Recovery Plans.

  • Working with Networking, certificates, Oatuh, AzureAD, ASE, ASP, AKS, Azure Apps, Load Balancers, Application gateway, Firewall, Load balancer, API Management, SqlServer, Databases on Azure.

Leverage the use of industry standard tools including:

  • Nagios, Alert Logic, New Relic, Log Analytics, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, etc. to provide our customers with outstanding service.

  • Implement routine Service Requests, with an expectation that future requests will be automated where possible.

  • Supervise Windows, Network, and Infrastructure trends to ensure that we are ready to scale with encouraged rapid growth.

  • Develop and build scripts for configuration and infrastructure deployment. Strong scripting knowledge required (Bash, PowerShell or phyton).

  • Design and deploy CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Octopus, Ansible, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).

  • Build infrastructure as code scripts (Terraform, ARM Templates, Cloud Formation, etc.).

  • Analyze application logs, IIS logs, system logs and security logs using event views and log manager.

  • Handle all activities following secure practices (SSL, Certificates, Key Vault, Secret Variables/Arguments).

  • Become a resource for knowledge of emerging and existing Cloud Technologies with and focus on Azure.

Organizational Alignment

  • Reports to Manager, Cloud Engineers.

  • Builds and fosters relationships with multi-functional teams within the organization


Skills & Work Traits

  • Able to work independently as well as a willingness to help others.

  • Be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication skills

Technical Proficiencies


  • Proficient in supervising and logging tools such as New Relic, Application Insights, AppDynamics or Dynatrace.

  • Experience with maintenance and administration of Windows, Linux Servers, and Kubernetes.

  • Experience with automation using scripting languages, such as PowerShell, YAML, JSON or similar.

  • Configuration management experience – Ansible, Terraform, Azure Automation Run book or similar.


  • Proven understanding of CI/CD Process and Tools.

  • Experience with SQL Server database maintenance and administration.



  • 5 Year+ of experience as a System Administrator

  • Have demonstrated ability supporting and building high availability Windows/Linux servers.

  • 3+ years of involvement working with cloud technologies including Azure, AWS

  • 1+ years of experience working with container technology including docker and Kubernetes

  • Working within Scrum, Kanban, or Lean methodologies


  • Experience with web-hosting technologies


  • Completed post-secondary education in a Technology program or related field, or comparable experience.
