We are seeking a DevSecOps Developer with a strong background in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This role will involve travel to military installations to work directly with the Warfighter in designing and developing custom software implementations as a Full Stack software developer.  Attention to detail and strong analytical skills are crucial for quality assurance. You will work directly with the Warfighter to understand their problems and needs, design and develop end to end solutions to address Warfighter requests, and solicit constant feedback to ensure quality software and feature development. You will solve uniquely challenging problems for our Defense and Homeland Security customers. Help manage large volumes of critical, real-time information about issues from global to local. This position requires the ability to obtain a US security clearance, a current active clearance not required to apply.

  • Work directly with the Warfighter to understand their problems and needs. Design and develop end to end solutions to address Warfighter requests. Solicit constant feedback to ensure quality software and feature development
  • Develop a deep understanding of Command Post Computing Environment software capabilities
  • Communicate new features and development with the core baseline software development team located at DEVCOM Armaments Center
  • Work independently to implement Command Post Computing Environment Software designs through the development, integration, and testing of functional and integrated software builds
  • Support the triage process for identifying new feature requests and mapping them against existing software requirements
  • Apply software development skills to add new functionality to the software baseline via emerging, Warfighter driven requirements
  • Follow Agile and Scrum best practices, maintain JIRA task log, use a suite of DevSecOps tools including JIRA, Confluence, Nexus, GitLab. Maintain strong configuration management for newly developed software features
  • Participate and Contribute to Command Post Computing Environment Integration Events so that stakeholders are able to integrate and test their capabilities in the Tactical Application Branch's System Integration Lab
  • Implement technical solutions using a combination of technologies including Java, JavaScript, AngularJS, NiFi, Elastic, Accumulo, Typescript, SQL, Windows Server and Linux, and Docker/Kubernetes
  • Travel may be up to 75%

  • Must have 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering, or related discipline
  • Strong coder with demonstrated proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, TypeScript/JavaScript or similar
  • Experience using technologies such as Java, JavaScript, AngularJS, NiFi, Elastic, Accumulo, Typescript, SQL, Windows Server and Linux, and Docker/Kubernetes
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in teams of technical and non-technical individuals, and comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment with dynamic objectives and iteration with users
  • Experience working with Agile Development Practices
  • Experience with Atlassian tool suite including JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket
  • Preferred experience with Department of Defense Command and Control Systems
