Guidewire is seeking a highly motivated Cloud Ops Intern to join our team. The successful candidate will work on cutting-edge technologies and have the opportunity to impact our cloud-based products' operations significantly.

The Team:

Guidewire's Cloud Operations (CloudOps) team is part of the global Customer & Cloud Operations (CCO) organization, delivering 24x7 cloud services to the world's largest insurers in the P&C industry.

As a Cloud Ops Intern on the CloudOps team, you will have the opportunity to work on tools development projects that support the efficient operations and optimal availability of Guidewire's flagship cloud platform and Insurance Suite products. The CloudOps team is dedicated to developing and implementing automation solutions to improve the reliability of systems in production, serving hundreds of customers and supporting millions of transactions daily.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop and maintain software solutions
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Contribute to the development of new features and enhancements.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to company standards.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues as needed.

  • Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Python or Golang.
  • Knowledge of Bash scripts is a plus. Familiarity with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science or a related STEM field.

  • In addition to the responsibilities and requirements listed above, the cloud ops Intern will have the opportunity to learn and gain experience in the following areas:
  • Cloud-based software development and deployment.
  • Writing efficient, maintainable, and scalable code.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality tools.

  • The intern will be fully integrated into our operations and SRE teams and can work alongside experienced software developers, contributing to developing our cloud operations tools. The intern will also receive guidance and mentorship from experienced team members and opportunities for professional development and career growth.
