We are looking for an engineer to join our DevOps team. The candidate that will fill this role will have experience as an engineer coming from a background as a SRE or DevOps engineer. You will work within your team and with teams of other software engineers to help improve developer operations, improving delivery and performance. You will work to grow the organizations telemetry gathering, helping to gain powerful insights to push the teams forward and eliminate toil. You will build tools to improve code delivery and automations to secure code and infrastructure.


What you'll do:
  • As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be a member of our small but growing DevOps team responsible for designing and implementing cloud infrastructure in AWS and On Premise, building and maintaining tools for application development and deployment, and providing SRE support for application and data engineers
  • You will be have a lead role on the DevOps team and be a welcome addition to our architecture strategy working group responsible for designing the next evolution of the Superpedestrian software platform
  • Create and maintain cloud infrastructure as code using Terraform, as well as migrating older infrastructure over
  • Manage local and cloud-based environments for all stages of application development and testing
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines 
  • Build tools to help facilitate seamless release and platform updates
  • Ensure appropriate application and infrastructure logging and monitoring
  • Find and mitigate application, cloud and network vulnerabilities
  • Implement and refine security, access control, and software development policies
  • Participate in on-call rotation

  • What You'll bring:
  • 3-6 years of proven work experience in a DevOps role
  • Experience building and deploying containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with a cloud infrastructure environment (Azure, AWS or GCP)
  • Experience with configuration management tools
  • Experience implementing software build pipelines for CI/CD
  • Experience with front end proxy systems such as apache, nginx and haproxy
  • Experience with Git and GitHub
  • Experience with multiple programming languages, including shell scripting
  • Experience with SQL and database performance monitoring
  • Deep knowledge of networking and system administration
  • Familiarity with infrastructure, application, and system security practices
  • Experience with agile software development methodologies
  • Familiarity with Python, React, and Postgresql administration
  • Experience with designing infrastructure patterns for distributed architecture
  • Experience mentoring and managing engineers
