Team Overview: 
This position reports directly to the Director of Engineering. The successful applicant will be the lead engineer on the D&B Hoovers DevOps team.
 
The Role:
The DevOps Lead will mentor and lead other engineers as the D&B Hoovers team helps define and fine-tune company practices around Infrastructure as Code, Cloud Operations best practices, and CI/CD. This is a highly visible position that regularly interacts and informs teams across the entire organization and is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated engineer to have significant impact on the organization. Successful candidates will have experience and knowledge around Observability, Scalability, and Security as well as the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and drive resolution of issues in both traditional datacenter and cloud operations.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead to improve DevOps process to mitigate production, performance, and operational problems and resolve issues as they occur. 
  • Lead to support Hoovers and Datavision’s operations including upgrades, availability/reliability aspects, releases, and customer-facing features.
  • Collaborate with other team members and the Dun & Bradstreet global organization to accelerate cloud initiatives, focusing on Google Cloud.
  • Assist the Engineering team with observability initiatives focused on self-service monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Build, improve and support CI/CD pipelines with a goal to maximize velocity, accuracy of deployments and faster deployment time
  • Work with the security engineering team to ensure that security guardrails are implemented as early as possible in pipelines and resolve any infrastructure vulnerabilities.

  • Requirements (Must Have):
  • 3+ years experience working with Chef, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • 6+ years working with infrastructure as code and/or configuration management tools, receiving and providing code reviews, preferably experience with Terraform.
  • Strong Linux and Windows System Admin experience with understanding of SSL, Networking and other aspects of Linux administration.
  • Experience with CI/CD toolchains and automation, especially Jenkins, Harness, Artifactory
  • Experience with databases including MSSQL and Postgres.
  • Experience with Tomcat and Apache
  • Familiarity with New Relic and Splunk and their respective Observability components.
  • Experience writing code in Python, Ruby, and a variant of shell.
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Experience and desire to mentor and lead a DevOps team.

  • Preferences (Nice to Have):
  • 2+ years experience with Google Cloud Platform. Google Cloud Professional or Fellow certification strongly desired.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch and Redis is a plus.
