About the Role
As a DevOps Engineer, you will work on the Hermes Environments - a system that automatically spins up test environments at JustAnswer. Every week, all the teams use a few such environments to ensure their changes are working great. Those environments are deployed to Kubernetes clusters, and daily there are about 100-300 environments created with ~30 applications on each of them. Our DevOps Engineer will work in the team on this project and will be able to work in all areas with other software engineers and DevOps people. In addition, all of the team members are at the senior level, so there is a great opportunity to learn. In addition to the main project, DevOps will eventually contribute to the JustAnswer delivery system used to ship and run apps on production. We have over 250 applications and about 200 production deployments every week. 

What You’ll Do
•    Day-to-day responsibilities include working on the Hermes backlog, synchronizing with the team, and supporting of existing infrastructure. Main aspects of the work are next:
•    Manage our Kubernetes Lifecycle: deployments, upgrades, monitoring, and uptime of all K8S clusters on-premises/cloud
•    Performance assessment and monitoring.
•    Use infrastructure as a code approach to develop new and maintain existing solutions
•    Work daily with development, QA, and technical operations teams
•    Automate and monitor daily project development and nightly builds
•    Troubleshoot issues with builds/servers/nonproduction & production environments

What We’re Looking For
•    2-3 years experience as a Release Engineer, or DevOps
•    Fluency in some scripting languages (e.g. Bash, Python, PowerShell)
•    Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
•    Extensive experience supporting distributed engineering teams/environments
•    Experience with Linux and Windows Server Operating Systems

Nice to have:
•    Experience with Hyper-V, VMWare, Zabbix, Nagios, Dynatrace, Ansible
•    Experience working with Jenkins and/or Azure DevOps
•    Experience with public cloud providers (e.g. Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Amazon AWS)
•    Experience with Helm
