This role provides direction and specialist knowledge in defining solution architecture, strategic planning, migration analysis and technology modernisation in a cloud context.  The role has a direct customer engagement function, demonstrating thought leadership throughout the customer delivery lifecycle via proposals, presentations, workshops, POC’s, delivery and benchmark analysis.
 
The Cloud Architect advises on contemporary architectural thinking, framing the commercial benefits of Arq’s solution offerings from both a technology and business perspective.

A strong people leader, the Cloud Architect will hold a shared responsibility for driving broader team engagement in continuous process improvement, knowledge sharing, guild contribution, and peer reviews. The role has a geographic regional accountability, but also works across geographies to ensure that Arq’s practices are consistent and repeatable regardless of client location.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with our clients and sales team in a pre-sales advisory capacity
  • Lead technology/business discussions advising on current/future state architectural vision, roadmaps, case for change, organisational impact and migration methodology
  • Select appropriate design standards, methods and tools, consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures and ensure they are applied effectively
  • Provide the expertise to bring solution offers to market within our technology competencies
  • Collaborate and deliver alongside regional delivery teams from Sales & PreSales, Program and Project Delivery, Technology Capability and Digital Experience
  • Obtain the appropriate technical certifications, qualifications and skills to deliver on customer digital solutions
  • Support the development of sales collateral, and support sales effort for execution within regions

    • What you will bring
  • Significant experience across AWS cloud solution architecture
  • Experience with common Automation pipeline tools and technology (Terraform, Octopus, GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible etc)
  • Demonstrated ability as an Architect, able to combine a deep understanding of business processes, industry best practices and architectural patterns to derive great customer outcomes
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster relationships across the organisation
  • Excellent capability and proven ability to drive engagement and retention within a client facing organisation
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, skills and/or experience in relevant fields
  • Ability to identify system, infrastructure and project interdependencies and balance competing demands to ensure project deliverables are achieved
