In this role, you will be a senior contributor on multiple small teams focused on the design and implementation of QuidelOrtho’s could-based systems and POC (point of care) instruments. These instruments are class 2 medical devices that perform diagnostics for a variety of assays, including COVID-19, Flu, Lyme, Strep, and many more. Quidel currently has more than 100,000 instruments deployed worldwide and continues to add to its market share with new and existing instruments. As our instrument population grows, so does our need for increased instrument functionality and modularity. As a part of the software team, you will be central to building new capabilities for these instruments and cloud-based systems.

From customer facing web applications, through cloud services that accept millions of test results, media files and diagnostic logs, to internal tools used by our chemistry and lab personnel – we use the right technology for the job. We are actively working on new initiatives including a common software test framework and a data consolidation and visualization framework to be used across all instruments and platforms. The team is modernizing the software across all our instruments to ensure we are prepared for our further expansion into international and domestic markets. We are driving this modernization by implementing modularized architecture methods, building up our instrument and cloud interconnectivity including fleet management and instrument performance data, and enhancing cybersecurity and test automation.

The Software Engineering Team is responsible for point of care and over-the-counter medical diagnostic products, spanning from instrument firmware to cloud services to larger lab-based instruments.
